Minute of Concern on Israel-Palestine
Ann Arbor Friends are united
in concern about the death and destruction occurring in Israel and
Palestine. We feel grief and
sadness for the vulnerability experienced by people in both lands. We believe
the Spirit calls us to care about all who suffer in this conflict and to
respond peaceably, as we each are led.
We hold in the Light Friends
who undertake the work of seeking information, supporting peace groups, working
to sustain the Quaker presence in Ramallah, initiating interfaith dialogue,
opposing the supply of weapons to combatants on both sides, and promoting
economic development to lessen poverty in the region. We will continue to educate ourselves about this humanitarian
crisis as we seek helpful ways to respond individually and as a Meeting.
